There is so much to love about this place! The location and the view is pretty awesome and I love that the waiting area is so comfortable. It's actually fun waiting for your table. I gave it a 4 because, in my opinion, the food (and at times the service ) could use some improvement. For me there is only one thing on the menu worth ordering-the steak burger. Still I am a regular and I love it.
A true exotic dining and cocktail experience in The Singer Island-Jupiter area... open with lush tropical greenery, palm trees in open air, on the water can’t be beat. The fresh catch of the day is recommended! Ask the server for the tastier of the two presentations.... Reggae music on stage is an add on to be enjoyed. My favorite go to place to take my visitors and dates....
Nice experience at Guanabanas. We went on a Saturday afternoon at about 3PM. The valet area was a little chaotic, patience is key. The wait was about 30-45 minutes for a table by the water — most tables at the restaurant were occupied, and it was dense with a lot of people. Getting to the bar while waiting for your table is almost impossible, but sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the water to see the boats go by while we waited was a pleasure. The food and drinks were OK — a little better than bar food, but not standout. I had the Lime in the Coconut drink which was refreshing, albeit expensive for the product offered. We ordered the Buffalo dip and shrimp fritters to get us started — pretty much bar food, and there was a long, black hair embedded in my fritter (which I did not complain about). For my main course, I had the chicken fresco and the rest of my friends had fish. We all felt like additional seasoning was needed, though the food was not bad. Just kind of ... food. Our bill for four people was a little over $300 (noting we had six cocktails).
Although everyone raved about this restaurant I was less than impressed. The kids menu has like 3 items on it for them to choose from. Also I got the fried shrimp. This is Florida and you'd have thought it would have been fresh. Nope! It was old and tasted fishy. Maybe if you're only going for the atmosphere and not the food then you'll like it.
Fantastic atmosphere, food and music. Our group really enjoyed being able to take in the sunset on the docks just behind/beneath the restaurant with some delicious cocktails (not pictured) from the bar while we waited for our table to be ready. Also not pictured were the shrimp fritters and loaded chicken nachos we enjoyed before our entrees arrived. For dinner our group enjoyed the Fat Cuban Pressed Sandwich with additionally ordered sides of Rice & Beans and Plantains; Macadamia Coconut Fresh Catch (Grouper) with Rice & Beans and Plantains; Tequila Lime Fresh Catch (Grouper) with Rice & Beans and Plantains; and Potato Crunch Fresh Catch (Snapper) with wait for it...Rice & Beans and Plantains. The food was delicious and the live somba music was a real treat.
